- Courtesy of Coach Jose Milla: We are growing together, huge improvements athletically and spiritually, many future missionaries sharing their mission call experiences, the team has shown sportsmanship in both winning and losing, they have shown resilience when hard loses come our way, and one particular aspect that I like is that we celebrate each other’s success.
Boys Varsity Tennis
Courtesy of the boys tennis coaching staff: We have had a wonderful season thus far. We ventured down to St George for a fantastic outing that Coach Chris set up and had a wonderful support and turnout by the boys. They had a great tournament winning their given bracket. We played against multi state champion and go our first win against one of their spots and had a very close second win, pushing their team to the limit. Practices have been amazing. The young men had been open to coaching and it shows in their play. Is h Chris was able to get TJ Wells, who plays for BYU and who just beat a top 10 school in the country, to come out and lead a practice on doubles where he is an expert in. The young men have crated great bonds of trust and friendship with all they have experienced this season thus far. We are looking to continue this season with great sportsmanship, exceptional effort on the court, and have g a great time out there on the court.
- 3-2 team record overall, winning 25 of 44 matches
- Took first place out of six teams at the St. George Invitational
- In the No. 1 singles spot, Tanner Peterson has produced a 5-1 record so far. Amazing work, Tanner!

Middle School Girls Tennis
Courtesy of Coach Beckwith, MS Girls Tennis Head Coach: Middle School Tennis (6th-9th graders) is underway at American Heritage School for the 2025 Spring season. Led by Candice Beckwith, Head Coach, we had 38 girls sign-up to play the great sport of tennis! Those 38 girls, listed alphabetically by first name are: Abby Swan, Abigail Smith, Anna Beckwith, Annie Bott, Annie Pearson, Aubri Rutherford, Ava Hanshaw, Bianca Bertilson, Brooke Steele, Brooke Bellows, Brooklyn Garrick, Ella Patterson, Elle Nesbit, Ellie Van Der Watt, Gabriela Ribeiro, Grace Sessions, Gracie Bott, Gracie Johnson, Isabel Hartvigsen, Jewell Bott, Joslyn Draschil, Kaitlyn Lake, Kanai Graham, Lacey Stevenson, LaDawn Erickson, Lauren Chambers, Lauren LeBlanc, Leila Krstic, Lucie Allen, Madeleine Garrick, Oriahna Suelzle, Piper Freestone, Remi Rucker, Ruby Thompson, Ruthie Bott, Savannah Hatfield, Scarlett Patterson, and Zoey Strong. Candice recruited four additional coaches, Vasil Osipenko, Tessa Staley, Jessica Blotter, and Anthony Bott.
The Spring season started March 10th and consists of practices on Monday and Wednesday and matches on Fridays, for a total of six matches. After the matches there is tournament play for each level of player. Because of the large group, we created Team 1 and Team 2 and each team of 19 players has a different opponent each week.
The season has been so much fun and as coaches we are so proud of all the girls. Some have never played before and some have played for years. We are all a team though and work together to lift and support one another. We seek to be Christlike examples in how we treat each other and our opponents; and how we serve one another.
We are grateful to the American Heritage School and the administration, the donors who paid for the tennis courts to be put in, Utah Youth Tennis program (UYT), and for the parents who support and encourage their daughters to come out and play and do hard things.
