Hobbies — I am a woodworker, bookbinder, cook and baker, gardener, filmmaker, father, and grandfather. My largest hobby, however, is reading.

Curriculum Highlight — My favorite thing to teach is J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. This book is a beautiful story full of rich symbolism. The story is meaningful to both me and my students. Each year I ask my students if I should continue to teach the book. Without fail, the students respond with an enthusiastic “Yes.”

An Experience That Prepared Me to Teach at AHS
I love to try and make a difference in the lives of the students with whom I interact. I love to watch the lights come on in their eyes and to see them develop a better understanding and appreciation for the subjects that I teach.
