Vanessa is a native of Houston, TX. She has worked as a teacher for 8 years and has loved every minute of it. She taught 2 years of 6th grade Dual Language where instruction was in Spanish. After that, she worked in an elementary school for 6 years where she taught 4th mainly and a year of 3rd grade. She and her husband moved here at the end of July 2020 as he was accepted into the BYU. Since then, she has been eager to get back into the classroom and work and learn with those around her. A self-proclaimed bookworm, Vanessa loves sitting down with a good book and enjoys when others recommend a series to her. She is most grateful to have the opportunity to work at American Heritage as she has always felt the need to combine the secular with the spiritual in the teaching profession. “I am truly honored to be able to work with children, and I feel blessed to work in such a wonderful place and atmosphere.”
