A Best of State Experience
The Lyceum Youth Orchestras at American Heritage School is one of the largest and most comprehensive youth programs of its kind in the nation. With a focus on faith, patriotism, and excellence, our students learn to LOVE music MORE through musical service, meaningful media, and inspiring events.
With ten ensembles across two campuses serving over 450 students, we meet students at the threshold of their learning, whether they are a basic music reader or high school virtuoso. Our audition process is quick, convenient, and entirely online. To get involved see our Auditions page.
Lyceum Philharmonic has been recognized by the Best of State organization as Utah’s premier orchestra annually for over a decade. Lyceum orchestras have been featured on PBS, recorded for SONY Masterworks, hit the top of the Classical Billboard Charts, performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, and inspired millions through uplifting music and videos on streaming and YouTube.
In all endeavors, these student ensembles strive to:
- Inspire — Nurture a love of elevated music, increased faith, and patriotism through purposeful events and media
- Instruct — Develop self-discipline, skills, and character through transformational teaching and professional-level experience
- Impact — Awaken individuals, families and communities to the power of music to change hearts and minds while fulfilling divine potential

Unparalleled Opportunity
Beyond the opportunity to record albums and videos, and perform in top-tier venues, Lyceum provides unforgettable opportunities to be mentored by and perform with a wonderful array of guest artists. Recent collaborations include:
- Performing at “The Redeemer” at the home of the New York Philharmonic with Jenny Oaks Baker on Easter weekend. Checkout the special video created by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints featuring our youth!
- Concerts and collaborative music releases with Broadway star Laura Osnes, Yahosh Bonner, and Madilyn Paige. Stream the latest album here.
- Multiple performances of Pines of Rome at Abravanel Hall, Tabernacle on Temple Square and with BYU Chamber Orchestra in the new BYU Concert Hall.
- Lyceum Music Festival 2025 featuring some of Hollywood’s most EPIC scores with special guest James Thatcher!
