Amanda comes to AHS with almost 9 years of private school work experience. She taught kindergarten for a year, and first grade for three years, before being offered a job as the school’s preschool director. She worked in that position for close to five years until quitting to start her family. When her son started kindergarten at AHS in 2019, she knew she wanted to return to educating hearts and minds when the time was right. Her goal as an educator is to teach children to think for themselves. She strives to teach by the Spirit while helping students make connections between their lives and the lessons being taught. She finds great joy in sharing “lightbulb moments” with students as they recognize their ability to master new concepts and apply those skills in their lives. “I love American Heritage and feel very blessed to get to spend time with the wonderful teachers, students, and staff at the school each day.” Amanda loves traveling, reading, developing new skills, and taking her children on adventures. She is on a continual quest to learn to love running and is training for her first half marathon, scheduled for July 2021.
