Kalo loves working with children and has developed skills as an educator through a variety of school–based volunteer opportunities as well as attending the school readiness program at Chula Vista Elementary in San Diego, CA. She has experience aiding at Los Altos Elementary where she learned the importance of children self-governing themselves at a young age through visual aids and peer-to-peer communication. Her passion for continuing to acquire knowledge led her back to school where she is currently a full-time student at BYU-Idaho University online working on certificates for her bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies with a Minor in Elementary Education.
Kalo is the 2nd oldest of 9 children and has always worked with children in various ways since childhood. She served in the San Salvador, El Salvador West Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She has been married for 18 years and has an 8-year-old son who they love to watch grow through sports and performing arts. She enjoys music, going camping, and spending time with friends and family.
“I find inspiration every day working and learning with wonderful people, especially with the children. I look forward to seeing my student’s growth and development. I am grateful for the opportunity to be an instrument in God’s hands to help His children learn by the Spirit and have that be part of their school experience.”
